FINE ART

What Kind of Art Would I Ask For?
Roxy. Good Thing They Have So Much To Work With.
The intent here is for you to have an original work by artist Jeff Leedy suitable for hanging at home or in the office. They could also be designed for public spaces (hospitals, terminals, etc.). Commissions usually are birthday gifts or anniversary presents and are often humorous family portraits, pet portraits, sports scenes, or work-related things that might go well in the office. Commercial projects (advertising/promotion) are negotiated differently.

Timing
Watch Out Imelda.
One to three months, depending on my travel schedule.
Process
First, we will discuss your objectives for this humorous original painting. Then, to start the project, I'll need 3 things:
  1. Color xeroxes, photos, or jpegs (via email) of the intended subject — please enlarge faces so I can see them.

  2. A written stream-of-consciousness on the intended subject: everything you can think of about the subject that is relevant, don't worry about grammar or spelling, just rattle on! Please!

  3. A deposit of 50%.

Before I even start the finished art, I will present to you B&W sketches that show the idea and concept (generally within 1-3 weeks). Only when you have approved the final idea and composition, do I start the finished artwork. This is where we negotiate what's in the painting. That way you know exactly what I will be doing, only larger and of course, in color. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the finished art (depending on my travel schedule).

Testimonials
Eric, The Bird Dog Man.

"I wanted to give my bird dog hunting husband a birthday gift with a special humor. He loves to go out for pheasant in the woods with our six shaggy retrievers, bag 'em, snag 'em, and then come back to our portable campfire and celebrate with a few martinis. Jeff reversed a few of the roles and came up with this hilarious portrayal which we all hooted over. It was a bulls eye. Thanks so much!"
— Kim C.

"I had him do a 40th birthday portrait of my go-getter husband, Glen. It was a profile with three crazy little guys with binoculars popping out of the top of this head...very pertinent to my Glen's opportunistic ways. The title was: 'Hey. Where's The Bucks?'"
— P. Little, Texas

"I always drive our truck with my girlfriend next to me and my bearded collie, 'Chester' in the back. Our painting has Chester driving with both of us in the back. I roared. It was awesome!"
— P. Schifres, San Francisco

Sophie Tucker and Jaxon Browne.

"This baronial portrait of my handsome stud Jaxon Browne and my big, beautiful princess Sophie Tucker, were the best birthday present ever. I love it! I love it! I love it! You have captured their true Bouvier spirit."
— P. Wilson, Mill Valley, CA

"He did a lovely portrait of Norman, my sweet, sweet English bulldog seated at my table dressed in a tux 'smoking' a dog biscuit. Also, there's an ancestral portrait in the background. I love it."
— J. Salz, NYC
