Dogs are some of my favorite people. And it was our bearded collie Murphy who inspired most of
my funny dog prints. "Checking His P-Mail" came from the sniffing of every tree and "Did Someone Say,
'Cookie?' " was his incessant plea. How can a dog lick himself? "Because He Can" made us all
crack up. But the funniest had to be when he jumped in bed with Elaine and me each morning and
one of us said, it's "Dogus
Interruptus", my most popular dog print. These 9 x 12 prints have been a
huge seller for us for over 22 years now.
Each time I'd park my car, Murphy would slide over behind the wheel as if to take over driving. From that
came "Excuse Me, Do You Have
A License For That Vehicle?" A classic.
Then, when I got goosed, it inspired "The Trouble With Big Dogs", another classic. I saw a parade with dachshunds
with buns as saddle bags and from that came "Please Hold The Onions" a real cutie.
Murphy did not get on the furniture but I know many dogs that do so from that came "The Dog Is Only Allowed
On The Furniture If He Is Cute." So be it. When it's dinner time, Murphy let us know by begging at his bowl so out came
"Oh Please, Oh Please"
another black lab classic. Golden retrievers, labs, mutts and others- the behavior was more
important to me than the breed but eventually I hit them all.
"Put Me In
Coach" shows a ready to play ball lab in many colors.
"Bad Dog" was hunting
scene created for a wildlife show I did and finally Murphy, who is my counterpart in my
"Portrait of the Artist As A Young Dog", ate deer poop on our evening walks and then licked my face the
next morning. Yukkkk!
From that came "Eats From
The Litter Box, Drinks From The Toilet."
I love all these dogs and plan to do many, many more for your enjoyment. After all, dogs are some of my favorite people.
